Just another sunny Sunday

It has been a great day with family. My brother-in-law came down with his grandsons, Jesse and Jeremiah. We all gathered at my daughter's home for Sunday dinner. Billy (my brother-in-law) left the boys to visit until Tuesday. My daughter will take them home after they have a visit with their mom. If this sounds a bit confusing, it is. My daughter is currently caring for my nieces three year old girl and Billy has custody of his grandsons, her brothers. My niece seems to be the third generation of mothers who do not raise their children. My mother did not raise my siblings and I. My sister never really raised her children, she left that to their fathers. Now my niece has three and again other people are responsible for their care. My daughter has been troubled by the pattern and has questioned me about past generations and problems they may have had with absentee mothers. The problem is no one is around to ask except my mother and we do not speak. I plan to do some family research and will post any information I uncover in future writings. That does it for now, until next time, Love your children and tell them you do every day!

The Dolphins of Taiji

If you watch no other documentary this year, watch this one. We spend untold amounts of money every year to take our children to marine parks every year. We mean well, just want to show our kids the wonders of the ocean. We are killing dolphins and other whales with every penny we spend. The documentary "The Cove" is about how these parks acquire their sea going mammals. Also, what happens to those not chosen for sale to parks. It is horrific what goes on in this little hamlet in Japan. I know now that I will never see another dolphin or whale in captivity, it would turn my stomach! I can not do much about anything other than write and talk. But believe this I will write and talk!

I am new

Hi, I am new on blogger. I enjoy twitter, but feel limited there. I am very opinionated on most subjects, so be forewarned. There are many things to be concerned with in these troubled times. Many things that are unimportant divert attention from that. I will strive to post daily on current events and things that set my teeth on edge. All constructive comments are welcome.
